Big data for Big D: DFW’s tech boom
GARLAND – RagingWire Data Centers and NTT Communications have purchased 42 acres near Bush Turnpike to build a 1 million-sf data center.
The location — with access to telecommunication fiber networks and electric power — will serve businesses in Richardson, Plano and across the Dallas area.
The property is just east of Richardson in Garland’s city limits. The City of Garland and Garland Power & Light worked with RagingWire and NTT to land the big development.
The DFW metroplex is already the fourth largest data center market in the country and growing at about 13 percent a year.
Facebook broke ground in July on its $1 billion data center in the Alliance development north of Fort Worth. The 110-acre project will contain almost 1 million sf.
