New Lair for Prairie View A&M Panthers
PRAIRIE VIEW (Skanska) – Construction began last month on Prairie View A&M University’s new football stadium and athletic field house.
The new Panther Stadium will have 15,000 seats, coaches’ booths, ten sky box suites and a radio and television broadcast booth. The existing stadium is being demolished to make way for the new one.
The 55,000-sf athletic field house will include academic and administrative support areas; weight room; sports medicine and hydrotherapy areas; kitchen and dining room; team meeting rooms; and men’s and women’s locker rooms.
Skanska signed a $53 million contract with the Texas A&M University System to build the facility. PBK Sports is the architect on the project, which is expected to be completed in May 2016.
