Daikin Industries’ $417 million facility will employ 4,000 people.

The Japanese company, which owns Goodman Global, will build the campus off US 290 about three miles west of Grand Pkwy. (SH 99). Daikin will consolidate its Tennessee and Texas operations at the new campus, which is slated to open in mid-2016.

Goodman Global’s 525,000-sf air conditioner factory near Loop 610 and US 290 will be closed when the new project is completed.

According to a press release from Daikin, the campus will have "one of the largest and most technologically advanced HVAC (heating, ventilating and air conditioning) manufacturing facilities in the country” when it’s finished.
