ANGLETON (The Pearland Journal) – The Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service is conducting a series of lectures and a workshop designed to provide classroom instruction and hands-on training in ranchette operation.

The Small Acreage Landowner Series includes five two-hour seminars scheduled for Tuesday evenings beginning Feb. 17. A Saturday workshop is scheduled for March 21.

Topics for the seminars include farm and equipment safety, farm facilities and fencing, agriculture taxes and insurance, landowner’s legal rights, and an introduction to forage management. The Saturday workshop will cover livestock health and handling and chute-side safety.

The seminars will be from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Brazoria-Galveston Farm Bureau at 2620 East Mulberry in Angleton. The workshop will be held at Taylor Ranch in Jones Creek. Cost is $15 per person for each seminar and the workshop, $70 per person for the series, or $95 per couple for the series.
