Corpus Christi Driscoll $80M project brings rooftop helipad
CORPUS CHRISTI – Driscoll Children’s Hospital will soon add a 70,000-sf building, a rooftop helipad and upgrades to existing facilities.
The $80 million renovation project will break ground in 2016.
The two-story building will be on the northeast side of the facility along Alameda, right next to the just-completed operating room.
Staff will operate a new outpatient surgery center and outpatient lab on the first floor. The second floor will house 16 patient rooms for a new pediatric intensive care unit.
The plan also calls for upgrades to the neonatal intensive care unit, radiology waiting areas and an expansion of the parking garage.
The renovation is a result of the growth of the hospital’s services.
