First up is the $168 million renovation of the Zachry Engineering Center, which will begin this month. It will transform the 43-year-old, 350,000-sf building into the 550,000-sf Engineering Education Complex. It is expected to open in December 2017.
Next month, the university will begin a $135 million project that will include renovation of nine Corps of Cadets residence halls and construction of two new Leadership Learning Centers totaling more than 26,000 sf. Parts of that project are expected to be completed in August 2016. The remaining will follow a year later.
The 44-year-old Commons Building between Aston, Mosher, Dunn and Krueger Halls will use $49 million to renovate 83,000 sf and add 6,500 more. Work is slated for completion in 2017.
