COLLEGE STATION (Real Estate Center) – Existing single-family home sales in Texas were up 4 percent last month from a year ago, while the median price was up 9 percent, according to the latest Multiple Listing Service data compiled by the Real Estate Center.

In January, 15,791 homes were sold, up from 15,238 in January 2014.

The median price increased from $164,500 a year ago to $179,100.

Housing inventory was at 3.1 months, well below the 6.5 months the Center considers a balanced market.
