WASHINGTON, D.C. (U.S. News & World Report) – Four Texas high schools are among the ten best in the country, according to U.S. News & World Report's latest rankings. Two — including the top-ranked school — are in Dallas.

Big D's School for the Talented and Gifted topped the list, while its School of Science and Engineering Magnet came in fifth.

Houston's Carnegie Vanguard High School ranked sixth, and Lamar Academy in McAllen ranked ninth.
