The City of Fort Worth has approved financial incentives for a 110-acre data center project planned in the AllianceTexas development near I-35W. Plans call for a four-building complex at the intersection of Alliance Gateway and Park Vista Blvd., east of Alliance Airport.

The project would begin with a 250,000-sf building that would triple in size over time.

Documents filed with the state, along with the identity of the planning team, indicate that the 750,000-sf data center is intended for California-based Facebook, which already has data centers in Oregon, North Carolina and Iowa.

The architect and engineering firm identified on the team for this project are the same companies that did Facebook’s new $300 million, 476,000-sf facility northeast of Des Moines, Iowa. The Seattle law firm listed as representing the company also works for Facebook.

Facebook, which has more than 1.4 billion users, is adding to its data center capacity as the company’s business grows.
