AUSTIN (Austin American-Statesman) – A massive sports and entertainment venue is coming east of Austin-Bergstrom International Airport.
Permits indicate the development, referred to as Blue Prairie by the city and as NLand Surf Park by a website set up for the project, will be focused on water sports, with a lagoon the size of nine football fields.
Amenities listed include 11 surfing areas, a children’s beach, an adult beach with a Tiki bar and an outdoor concert venue that can accommodate about 2,000 people.
The parcel was acquired by Austin Park LLC in July 2014.
NLand Surf Park is set to open next year and will be on a 160-acre site at 4836 E. TX 71.
