Residential Underway Near Frisco’s Grand Park
Grand Park, a 350-acre centerpiece park, is waiting on lake permits from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers before construction can start, but the 152-acre Canals at Grand Park and 34-acre Park West developments are underway.
The Canals at Grand Park is a more than $300 million master-planned multigenerational community by Arcadia Realty Corp. and Charter Properties.
The first phase includes about 250 single-family homes, a senior living community and some townhomes, all which should be completed sometime in 2016. The second phase has an additional 140 single-family homes and multifamily townhomes and flats.
Park West has been rezoned from a grocery-anchored retail center to provide for structured parking, a 320-unit apartment community and 115 single-family detached homes.
The centerpiece of the development will be a large water feature and 30,000 sf of specialty restaurants with patios backing to the water.
Some homes could be constructed as early as third quarter 2016, and the apartment complex should be complete in early 2017. The dining space will come after some of the homes and apartments are in place.
