Beck Reveals $4B Dallas Midtown PlanBeck Reveals $4B Dallas Midtown Planhttps://www.recenter.tamu.edu/news/newstalk-texas/?Item=100432015-06-19T11:25:00Z2015-06-19T00:00:00Z

The redevelopment includes the Valley View Center Mall site along with the majority of the 430 acres surrounding the mall, which is bounded by the Dallas North Tollway, LBJ Expy., North Central Expy. and Spring Valley Rd.

Plans for the project include:

  • an 80,000-sf grocery store, AMC Theatre, and an additional 225,000 sf of retail space fronting a pedestrian-friendly esplanade;
  • about 80,000 sf of boutique office space;
  • around 4,000 apartments;
  • a 250-key luxury hotel with an attached 100-unit condo building;
  • a 20-story, 350,000-sf office tower with about 30,000 sf of retail on the first floor and subterranean floor; and
  • another 20-story condo and hotel tower.

A 20-acre park will sit in the center of the Dallas Midtown redevelopment.

Beck Ventures is also asking for a zoning variance to extend the number of stories from 20 to 26.

If the city council approves a Mall Area Redevelopment Tax Increment Financing District, construction on the initial phase of Beck Venture's portion of the development will begin by December and be completed by fourth quarter 2017.

Locally based Omniplan is the master architect of the development. Street-Works LLC of New York designed the esplanade portion. 5G, also of Dallas, is the architect of the towers and park.
