Big D’s increase was the third highest in the country, behind Denver (10.3 percent) and San Francisco (10 percent). Nationally, prices were up 4.2 percent.

Dallas home prices are at a record high and about 15 percent ahead of where they were at the peak of the housing market before the recession, according to Case-Shiller.
