The Texas economy gained 331,100 nonagricultural jobs from April 2012 to April 2013, an annual growth rate of 3.1 percent compared with 1.6 percent for the United States. The state’s nongovernment sector added 312,200 jobs, an annual growth rate of 3.5 percent compared with 2 percent for the nation’s private sector.
